Warm Meat Pie Recipe

Jiffy cornmeal mix
1/2 lb of beef; ground
1/2 lb of pork; ground
1/2 tsp of black pepper
1 c of milk-eggs
1 onion (large); minced
1 package of frozen corn; thawed
1 tsp of salt
2 Tbsps of chili powder
2.5 c of tomato juice

Place a medium-sized skillet with margarine over medium heat. When the margarine melts, toss in the garlic together with onions. Once the garlic turns light brown; and the onion becomes transparent, add in the meat. Saute ’til light brown. Drain the fat off.

Pour in the tomato juice, corn, chili powder, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Reduce the heat. Simmer the sauce for 7-10 minutes.

Preheat the oven up to 400 degrees F.

Meanwhile, beat the Jiffy cornmeal mix, eggs, and milk together in a small bowl, ’til thoroughly blended. Pour the meat mixture into a casserole dish. Pour the cornmeal mixture over the meat. Bake ’til bread is light brown.
