Lemon Buttermilk Cake Recipe


Lemon Buttermilk Cake Recipe

1/2 tsp of soda
1/2 tsp of salt
1-1/2 c of softened butter
1 c of buttermilk
2.5 c of sugar
3.5 c of flour
2 Tbsps of lemon extract
4 eggs

Preheat oven up to 325 degrees F.

Combine the sugar and butter in a mixing bowl ’til fluffy and light. Add in the eggs (one by one). Whisk the mixture thoroughly after adding each egg.

Meanwhile, combine the soda, flour and salt in a smal bowl. Sift it altogether. Add it into the creamed butter mixture alternately w/ buttermilk.

Whisk well following every addition of flour and buttermilk. When done, add in the lemon extract, and whisk further. Transfer this mixture to a slightly greased – as well as floured – baking tube pan; and bake it for 1.25 hours.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the tube pan. Once cooled, overturn it onto a serving platter and cut it into serving slices.
