Crunchy Chow Mein Noodle Bars Recipe
1/3 c of butter (or margarine)
1/3 c of honey
1/2 tsp of cinnamon; ground
1 c of sugar (light brown)
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 canned mixed nuts (6.5 oz)
2 canned of “chow mein” noodles (5 oz each)
Combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and honey in a nonstick saucepan (3 quarts). Mix well. Place the mixture over medium heat and let it boil uncovered for a minute.
Stir constantly to prevent the mixture from sticking to the saucepan. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add in the vanilla flavor.
Pour in the “chow mein.” Stir thoroughly ’til evenly coated; and then add in the mixed nuts.
Smear the surface of a baking pan with oil. Spread the candied “chow mein” onto the pan evenly. Cover it using waxed paper for about an hour. Remove the waxed paper and cut the chow mein bars to serving pieces
