Classic Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe
1/2 tsp of vanilla essence
1 canned milk (low fat, evaporated); chilled
1 c of yogurt (non-fat)
2 Tbsps of honey
6 Tbsps of skimmed milk powder
Combine the chilled low-fat evaporated milk with vanilla essence, powdered skim milk and nonfat yogurt in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk well for about 3-4 minutes or ’til smooth. Chill it in the freezer ’til it nearly sets (approximately 40-45 minutes).
Take it out of the freezer. Whisk the mixture again ’til it thickens, creams, and almost doubles in mass. Transfer the mixture into an ice cream container. Let it freeze ’til ready to serve.
Scoop into an ice cream bowl, and garnish with mint leaf and a slice of fresh fruit (preferably strawberry or kiwi) prior to serving.
