Breakfast Bread-and-Spam Souffle Recipe
1/2 onion; minced
1/2 green bell pepper; sliced into strips
1 can of sliced mushrooms (4 oz); strained
6 eggs (large)
8 oz of cheese (cheddar); grated
1/4 tsp of pepper
3 1/4 c of milk
1 tsp of salt
1/3 c of butter; melted
1 can of Spam (12 oz)
2 c of corn flakes; pound
16 pcs of sliced bread
Preheat the oven up to 350 degrees F.
Peel or cut off the crust from the sliced bread. Spread butter on one side. Layer eight (8) slices of bread (buttered side down) on a baking dish (9×13x2 inches).
Cut the Spam into 12 equal slices. Assemble it on top of the bed of sliced bread. Top it with diced onions, mushrooms, chopped green bell pepper, and grated Cheddar.
Place the remaining eight (8) slices of bread on top (buttered side up).
Beat eggs together with salt, pepper and milk altogether in one small mixing bowl. Pour the mixture over the bread. Let it cool overnight in the fridge.
Take it out of the fridge an hour prior to baking. Sprinkle it with corn flakes; then drizzle with butter. Cook it in the oven for an hour, and serve hot.
