Chili con Carne Recipe
1 can of tomato w/ chilis; diced
1 lb of beef; ground
1 green bell pepper; sliced
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
1 c of water
1/2 to 1 onion; sliced
2 to 3 garlic cloves; crushed (or minced)
salt & pepper
3 to 5 Tbsps of chili powder
cumin, garlic powder & onion
1 Tbsp of Veggie oil
Place a medium-sized nonstick skillet with veggie oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, saute the crushed garlic and onions. Once the onions are almost transparent, stir in the beef.
Add chopped green bell pepper. Stir constantly ’til beef is light brown. Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes. Drain.
Pour in the tomato sauce; and then stir in the tomatoes with chili, water, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cumin. Mix well. Let it boil; and then simmer for about 20 minutes.
When cooked, pour the mixture over tortilla chips, and top with cheese.
