Baked Italian Macaroni and Cheese Recipe
Chopped parsley
Sprig of parsley
1/2 pepper (green); chopped
1 lb of hamburger
1 onion (small); minced
1 can of spaghetti sauce (16 oz)
1 pkg of Mozzarella (2 c); grated
2 boxes of Mac and Cheese
Cook the macaroni and cheese as stated in the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Place a medium-sized saucepan with margarine over medium heat. When the margarine melts, toss in the garlic and onions. Once the garlic turns light brown and the onion becomes transparent, add in the hamburger meat and green bell pepper. Saute.
Add a dash of salt and pepper and stir ’til meat is light brown. Pour the spaghetti sauce into the maet mixture; and let it simmer for about 5 minutes uncovered while stirring constantly.
Preheat the oven up to 350 degrees F.
Transfer the meat mixture in a baking dish and layer it evenly at the bottom. Afterward, add in the macaroni and cheese followed by the grated Mozzarella.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and ground black pepper. Garnish with a sprig of parsley. Bake ’til the Mozzarella melts. Serve with toast or crusty bread.
