Baked Burger Patties with Mozzarella Recipe
Flour
Dry talian bread crumbs
1 c of Veggie oil
1/4 tsp of pepper
1 jar of spaghetti sauce w/ mushrooms (15 oz)
1 tsp of salt (seasoned)
1 Tbsp of parsley; chopped
2 pcs of eggs; lightly beaten
2 Tbsps of cheese (Parmesan); grated
2 lbs of lean beef; ground
6 cheese slices (Monterey Jack or Mozzarella)
Put the flour and bread crumbs in a small bowl. Mix well. Beat the egg in a separate bowl. Set aside.
Combine the beef, parsley, pepper and salt in one medium-sized bowl. Divide it into six (6) equally-sized patties. Dip it in the beaten egg, and coat well in the flour and bread crumb mixture.
Place a large skillet or saucepan with oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, fry the patties ’til both sides are golden. Drain in a platter with paper towel to remove excess fat.
Preheat the oven up to 400 degrees F.
Assemble it in a baking dish (9×13 inches). Top each of the patties with a Mozzarella slice. Pour the spaghetti sauce with mushroom over the patties. Sprinkle it with grated Parmesan, and top with a sprig of parsley. Bake the patties for about 20-25 minutes.
