Apple and Bacon Casserole Recipe
1/4 c of water
4 apples (winesap)
8 bacon strips
1/3 c of sugar
Place a large nonstick skillet over low heat. Once it is hot, cook the bacon. Make sure that it is not crunchy. Take out the bacon from heat, and set it aside in a small platter with paper towel to drain excess oil. Drain the fat in the skillet but leave about 2 tablespoons.
While the skillet is hot, add the apples. Cook it covered (over low heat) ’til the apples are nearly tender. At this point, pour in the sugar.
Increase the temperature to medium heat, and mix ’til apples are candied. Pitch the bacon back into the skillet. Stir lightly. Remove from heat and then serve
